Report an Injured Bird

{ Owls by Moonlight }
  • Countess Paolozzi Owl Wood
  • 11/09/2023
  • 100

Owls are creatures of the crepuscular hours – the transitional times of dusk and dawn. The timing of their activity along with their characteristic silent flight make them very difficult to see in the wild. Visit the Center for Birds of Prey for a special, nighttime program that focuses entirely on owls.

This program takes place in the Countess Paolozzi Owl Wood where you will be surrounded by a variety of owl species from around the world, including one of the largest, the Eurasian Eagle-owl. Enjoy flight demonstrations under the light of the moon and experience their silent flight as they soar just inches above your head. Take a tour with one of our Educators and listen to owls vocalizing while expanding your knowledge about individual species. Meet staff from the Avian Medical Clinic and learn about the treatment and care of injured wild owls. Visit the medical table where you can have a tactile experience with owl artifacts like wings and feet to better understand the unique evolutionary adaptations that make them such elusive predators.

In addition to the exciting bird interactions, guests enjoy a complimentary bar with beer, wine, and non-alcoholic refreshments as well as a catered meal of heavy hors-d’oeuvres.

Tickets are $100 per person. These events are best suited for adults.

These events are very popular and typically sell out quickly. Please note that this program is rain or shine. However, if we are required to cancel the program because of extreme weather we will offer you either a reschedule date or a refund.
