{ Gratitude and Celebration: Wingspan 2025 – Taking Flight was a magical night.  }

On October 26, nearly 250 friends gathered to celebrate and support The Avian Conservation Center. This special night highlighted our medical, educational, and conservation work—and the community that makes it all possible.

Thanks to our generous sponsors, guests, and partners, Wingspan 2025 raised more funds than ever before. Thank you for believing in our mission and helping our “Birds First” philosophy take flight.

Learn more below.

Each year, this special evening shines a light on our medical, educational, and conservation efforts—providing the resources that keep our mission soaring and ensuring our “Birds First” philosophy guides everything we do. Whether you sponsored, purchased a table or ticket, supported Fund-A-Need, joined the raffle, or bid in the auction—you made a true difference. Thank you for believing in our work and being such an important part of this caring community. We are thrilled to announce that Wingspan 2025 raised a total of $270,000 to support our essential work!

Fund-a-Need: The Husbandry and Propagation Wing

Each year at this event, through our Fund-a-Need, we ask our attendees to help us fulfill a special need project. This year we were amazed by our results. We started with a goal to raise $75,000 to match a generous anonymous contribution designated to start this project. We are proud and humbled to report that we exceeded our goal and raised $108,500! Check out the Fund A Need video appeal here.

A Team Effort

An event like this is never a singular accomplishment and we would be remiss not to honor all the efforts and parts of Wingspan that contributed to that success. Thank you to our Wingspan Committee, our internal team and our volunteer staff who all came together to contribute to Wingspan 2025 — this was a team effort and a team win!

Food, Fun, Raffles & Auctions

Wingspan 2025 was a “curated event,” our menu was specifically designed by the chefs at Salthouse Catering and our exclusive wine paIrings were selected by Rooted Bottle Market & Bar in partnership with Mission Grape Distributors and featured No Love Lost Winery. Thank you for your partnership and generous sponsorship of this year’s event.

A very special thank you to Fishing Nosara for their generous contribution of a 7-day escape to Costa Rica in support of our online raffle prior to the event. Congratulations to our winner, Rachel Mariani!

In addition, raffle and auction prizes were generously donated by local businesses from Georgetown to Beaufort and everywhere in between in the form of artwork, gift certificates, jewelry, and more. Because of the amazing organizations, individuals, and businesses listed below in our in-kind sponsor section, our event day raffles and auctions contributed more than ever to the total amount raised at Wingspan 2025!

Our Sponsors

Our final thank you extends to those philanthropic and community-centered organizations and individuals listed among our Wingspan 2025 sponsors. Each of these organizations and individuals reflect the best in corporate and private philanthropy. Thank you is not a big enough phrase to illustrate how grateful we are to have inspired the confidence of these sponsors whose support confirms their belief in the Center’s essential work. We are proud and humbled. Their generosity on our behalf allows the Center to maximize the support we receive at the event by underwriting the costs associated with bringing the Wingspan Committee’s vision to reality. As we close the book on Wingspan 2025, we do so with immense gratitude and pride, and with excitement for what’s ahead. We hope to see you again next year on October 25 for Wingspan 2026. In the meantime, enjoy this year’s photo album capturing the magic of an unforgettable night. Thank you for the special role you played in making it such a success.
