Each year, thousands of students are engaged in the Center’s science and natural history-based educational programs. The power and beauty of birds of prey cast them as unparalleled ambassadors in public education – exemplifying both the intellectual and ethical aspects of conservation management.
Decades of program experience and teacher evaluations demonstrate that the Center’s programs capture attention, enhance retention of subject material, and foster a renewed enthusiasm for learning – all of which contribute to an overall improvement in academic performance. These experiential programs, whether on-site at the Center’s 152-acre campus, or offered at your location, in classrooms and other venues, promote an awareness and appreciation for the natural world and our respective roles as stewards in its preservation.
Private Group Education Programs are available for any group that would like to experience a personal and targeted educational program including students, civic groups, professional organizations, and even groups of friends or families.
These group programs can be provided on our campus or at your location. Advance reservations are required. Please note that flight demonstrations are not a guaranteed part of virtual programs.

On-Campus Program Details
Flying Demonstration: One of the most unique and exciting aspects of the visitor experience at the Center for Birds of Prey is the free-flight demonstration. Listen closely as an owl coasts past your head without making a sound. Watch as trained hawks and vultures soar with wild raptors above the center’s flying fields. Each flying demonstration includes a period for questions and an up-close visit with the flying team birds.
Outreach Programs
The Center for Birds of Prey education staff will conduct a program in your own classroom, gym or multi-purpose room! These hour-long programs include three birds from our educational collection, discussions of conservation and natural history, and the opportunity for questions from participants.
Please tell us a little about your group so we can help get your Private Group Education Program scheduled. We will need to know the size of your group, the age of the participants, and also ask that you provide at least two dates/time options as our calendar can get quite full at different times of the year. Any other details can be added to the message section of this form.
