The goal of the Center’s Internship Program is to provide pre-professional, in-service experiential learning opportunities for students interested in environmental issues and ethics, avian medicine and rehabilitation, and/or avian research.
- Offered to undergraduate and graduate students.
- Credit/Non-credit. The Center does not itself award credit for internships; however, we are pleased to work with academic institutions in meeting individual student needs.
We offer internship opportunites with our Education & Husbandry department and our Avian Medical Clinic department. Please read below for more information about our programs, age requirements, scheduling, how to apply, deadlines and other important details.
Departments:
- Avian Medical Clinic (Avian Medicine/Rehabilitation) – only for those aged 18 or older. Please Click Here to read more about internships in the Avian Medical Clinic.
- The Center for Birds of Prey (Education/Husbandry) – available for those aged 16 or older. Please Click Here to read more about internships with the Center for Birds of Prey. One-day job shadows or service-learning opportunities with The Center for Birds of Prey can also be arranged on a case-by-case basis for children under the age of 16.
Important Dates and Deadlines:
- Spring Internships: February through April
- Deadline to Apply is January 12th (for the following spring)
- Summer Internships: May through July or June through August
- Deadline to Apply is March 1st
- Fall/Winter Internships: September/October through November/December
- Deadline to Apply is August 21st
